| Hello Kevin,
I
know I promised to reply to you about the footbed I received at
the Oval Finale last March. I meant to get back to you sooner,
but time flies. I didn't respond right away because after the
Oval Finale, I took a little time off training, then got the flu,
then had surgery in late April for a brain tumor (really) and
didn't train much for a while.
The brain
surgery was for a tumor on my vestibular nerve, which carries
balance information from the inner ear to the brain. As a result,
my balance was pretty unstable for a while. I had purchased a
relatively
inexpensive pair of cross-trainers last winter and found that
my feet hurt when I tried to run or jump in them during dry land
workouts. After the surgery, I started wearing them for just walking
around because I wanted a sturdy shoe. They were uncomfortable
and did not give me much support, so I tried putting your footbeds
in them. These virtually unwearable shoes became comfortable,
and I walked all over town in them during my first month after
the surgery. When I had recovered enough to start working out
again, the shoes with the footbeds continued to be great. I ran
in them (slowly), did dryland, including plyometrics, in them,
and then started using them for weight lifting when I resumed
that in June. The soles of the shoes are pretty worn now, and
I wear them around town, still with the footbeds.
I was very
happy with the footbeds, since they were comfortable, gave good
support, and seemed to outlast the shoes. I'm about to transfer
them to another pair of cross trainers that I now use for weight
lifting.
I would use
your footbeds again, and I would recommend your footbeds to others.
Sincerely,
Marian Furst, Satisfied
