Footbed Fitting Instructions

Mouldable

THE FIRST STEP IS CHOOSING THE MOULDING METHOD FOR YOUR NEW FOOTBEDS

WEAR MOULD: Place the footbeds into your footwear and wear as with any other shoe. The footbed will wear mould to your unique foot after a few days.

HEAT MOULD: The other option is to heat mould the footbeds in an oven before wearing them. Heat moulding will mould the footbeds to your foot instantly, and is recommended for people with very low arches.

TO HEAT MOULD YOUR FOOTBEDS FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS:
STEP 1

Pre-heat the oven. Do not use a microwave.
CONVENTIONAL OVEN: Set to bake at 90°C.
CONVECTION OVEN: Start at 80°C.
GAS OVEN (UK): Start at lowest gas mark (1/4, S, SS).

STEP 2

Remove the factory insole from your footwear.
If the insole is glued in, leave it in place.

STEP 3

If necessary, trim the footbed to fit.
SOLE Custom footbeds should not require trimming to fit in most types of footwear. However, if they do, trim your footbeds to exactly the right size, using your old insole as a guide. WARNING: Only trim the toe end & do not cut them too short!

STEP 4

Place the footbeds directly on the oven rack for 2 minutes, or until the opti-therm indicator turns black. If it has not turned black after 3 minutes, remove the footbeds from the oven; they will be ready to mould.

STEP 5

Immediately put the footbeds back into your footwear.
Ensure they are sitting flat in your shoes and the insole has not bunched up.

STEP 6

Step into your footwear.
Make sure your heels are against the back of the shoes and lace them up. As a guide, your knee cap should be directly over the top of your second toe.

STEP 7

Stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart and your toes pointed forward
for 2 minutes.
