 |
| To ensure that you get the most out of your
SOLE Custom Footbeds, PLEASE READ THE FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
CAREFULLY! For Answers to some of the most commonly
asked questions, check out the Footbed
Fitting FAQ.
|
|
1. Pre-heat the oven on bake to exactly
90°C. |
|
2. If possible, remove original insole from
your shoe. |
|
3. SOLE Custom Footbeds will not require trimming
to fit in most types of footwear. However, if they do, use
your old insoles as a guide to trim your new Custom Footbeds
to exactly the right size. WARNING: Do not cut them too short!
|
|
4. Place your SOLE Custom Footbeds in the
oven for exactly 2 minutes. NOTE: Your SOLE Custom Footbeds
come with the Opti-therm Molding Indicator. This is the sticker
on the bottom of the footbed. When your footbeds have been
heated to the correct temperature, the indicator will change
color from silver to black. This tells you your footbed is
done heating and is ready to mold. If the indicator hasnıt
changed color after 2 minutes, continue to heat the footbed,
checking every 20 seconds for the indicator to change color.
Once the indicator has turned black remove the footbeds from
the oven. |
|
5. Once they are out of the oven, immediately
put them into your shoes. (Ensure they are sitting flat in
your shoes and the toe area of the insole is not bent over).
|
|
6. Put your feet in right away, make sure
your heels are against the back of the shoes and lace them
up. As a guide, when you bend your knees, your knee cap should
be directly over top of your second toe. |
|
7. Stand straight with your feet shoulder
width apart and your toes pointed directly forward for 2 minutes.
|
| 8. Your body may need to adjust
to this new level of support. Therefore, it is recommended
that you break in the fit over a three-day period, slowly
increasing the time you wear your SOLE Custom Footbeds each
day. If you feel you need an additional adjustment to the
fit after three days, repeat steps 1 through 7. |

| Note: There will be a break in or adjustment
period in wearing your new footbeds. Since most of us are
not used to having footwear that properly supports the arch
and the heel, the support may feel unusual, but it should
not hurt. Be sure to wear your SOLE Custom Footbeds for a
minimum of three days before considering re-heating the footbeds
to further adjust to your feet. |
If
I have a foot problem won't molding the insole just make the
problem worse?
By following the instructions on the package, your foot will
approximate the neutral position. A neutral foot position
will ensure the heated footbeds correctly mold to your feet,
eliminating problems, not exacerbating existing problems.
In addition, because the footbeds have just the right amount
of rigidity, they will conform to your feet without becoming
flat or unsupportive. |
What
is the advantage of heat moldable footbeds over regular insoles?
No two feet are the same and a heat moldable footbed conforms
to fit every unique foot perfectly. Competing insoles claim
to offer arch supports, control and comfort, but for whose
foot? Regular insoles werenıt designed for just your foot!
Only SOLE Custom Footbeds were designed to adjust to your
unique foot. |
Why
do SOLE custom footbeds cost less than traditional custom
orthotic products?
Custom footbeds cost less than traditional custom orthotics
because they use a special heat to fit technology. Heat to
fit technology allows everyone to get a custom fit without
the high cost associated with visiting a health care professional.
While the custom footbeds will not take the place of a foot
care professional for people with severly troubled feet, the
unique combination of materials allow the custom footbeds
to adjust to exactly your foot shape! Custom footbeds are
truly a revolution in foot care technology. |
Do
I need to heat them before I wear them?
You can wear the footbeds without heating them. If you require
maximum support this may be best. However, heating and molding
them to your feet will improve both the comfort and overall
support. |
How
long will they last?
Our SOFTEC cushioning layer uses open cell polyurethane so
it will not bottom out or compress over time. They are guaranteed
to provide excellent cushioning for two years. |
Can
SOLE Custom Footbeds be heated more than once?
Sure. Your custom footbeds can be reheated up to five times.
Excessive amounts of heating will cause your footbeds to lose
their supportive, anatomically designed shape. If you feel
the heating process didnıt adjust your footbeds to your satisfaction
simply reheat them. |
Can
I use them in different footwear?
Absolutely. You can use your footbeds in almost any type of
footwear. You can use them in running/tennis/cross training
shoes, hiking boots, ski boots, skates, roller blades, or
even casual shoes. Feel free to move your footbeds from one
type of footwear to the next. |
What
size do they come in?
SOLE Custom Footbeds come in a womenıs size 5 through to a
menıs 22, the largest size range on the market! All sizes
are full sizes. If you are between sizes, simply choose the
larger size and trim the toe area of the footbed to fit your
existing shoes. To do this, simply place your old insoles
over your footbed and trace out the shape. Using the tracing
as a guide, cut the footbed to the correct size with scissors.
|
How
do I wash my new SOLE Custom Footbeds?
If your custom footbeds need to be cleaned, simply hand wash
the top layer with soap and water. Do not machine wash your
custom footbeds. |
