How
can SOLE Custom Footbeds guarantee ultimate comfort?
SOLE
Custom Footbeds are guaranteed to be more comfortable because
they take on the shape of your foot. It is simply not possible
for mass produced generic footwear to fit and support every
unique foot perfectly. SOLE Custom Footbeds allow you to customize
the fit of all your footwear. A layer of patented Softec
provides unsurpassed cushioning and shock absorption. Softec
is guaranteed for 2 years, longer than any cushioning material
on the market.
How
do SOLE
Custom Footbeds improve performance?
SOLE
Custom Footbeds creates a seamless bond between your foot
and your footwear ensuring all the power from your legs is
transferred directly to the ground. Because you are more comfortable
and less prone to injury and you can perform at a higher level
and remain active longer

Why
would I buy Regular cushioning instead of Ultra cushioning
or vice versa?
SOLE Custom
Footbeds come in two cushioning thicknesses, Regular (2mm
of Softec) and Ultra (4mm of Softec). This difference is important
when you look at the type of shoe that you will wear your
custom footbed in. A tighter fitting shoe might not fit the
Ultra and still leave enough space for your feet. The regular
is better suited for a tight shoe application. On the flipside,
a loose fitting shoe is a perfect candidate for the Ultra
because it offers more cushioning and helps the shoe fit more
snugly that it otherwise would have.
Why
are SOLE Custom Footbeds so comfortable?
SOLE Custom Footbeds take on the shape of your
foot. Your feet make total contact with the orthotic eliminating
pressure points and distributing the weight of your body evenly.
Softec feels soft under your feet. It is also rated as one
of the premier shock absorbers on the market.
How
long will SOLE Custom Footbeds last?
The "Softec" cushioning layer uses open cell
polyurethane so it will not bottom out or compress over time.
They are guaranteed to provide
excellent cushioning for two years. None of our competitors
even come close to offering this kind of performance promise.
Do
I need to heat them before I wear them?
You can wear SOLE Custom Footbeds without heating them.
If you require maximum support this may be best. However,
heating and molding them to your feet will improve both the
comfort and overall support.
Can
SOLE Custom Footbeds be heated more than once?
Sure. SOLE Custom Footbeds can be reheated several times.
However, it is recommended that you don't heat them more than
5 times. Excessive amounts of heating will cause your orthotics
to lose their supportive, anatomically designed shape. If
you feel the heating process didn't adjust your orthotics
to your satisfaction simply reheat
them.
Can I use them
in different footwear?
Absolutely. You can use your orthotics in almost any type
of footwear. You can use them in running/tennis/cross training
shoes, hiking boots, ski boots, skates, roller blades, or
even casual shoes. You'll find that SOLE Custom Footbeds work
best in footwear with a removable insole. Feel free to move
your orthotics from one type of footwear to the next.
What
size do they come in?
SOLE Custom Footbeds come in a women's size 5 through
to a men's 15 as well as regular and an ultra cushioning styles.
To select the right SOLE for you click
here. All sizes are full sizes. If you are between sizes,
simply choose the larger size and trim the toe area of the
orthotic to fit your existing shoes. To do this, simply place
your old insoles over your orthotics and trace out the shape.
Using the tracing as a guide, cut the orthotics to the correct
size with scissors.
How
do SOLE Custom Footbeds reduce risk of injury?
By supporting and aligning your feet properly your body works
more efficiently. Not only are you more stable and less likely
to sustain an injury but the muscles in your knees and back
are no longer forced to work against each other to pull your
body into alignment, reducing the risk of pulled or torn muscles. The
layer of Softec protects against bruising your feet and keeps
the shock of activity from jarring your joints.
Can
I wash them?
Machine washing will damage the SOLE. If they require cleaning
please hand wash your SOLE Custom Footbeds in warm water with
a bit of laundry detergent, rinse with cold water and then
air dry.
What
profile do they come in?
They also come in two different thicknesses for
different types of shoes. Making it easy to choose
the right SOLE.
If
I have a foot problem won't molding the insole just make the
problem worse?
By following the instructions on the package, your
foot will approximate the neutral position. A neutral foot
position will ensure the heated orthotics correctly mold to
your feet, eliminating problems, not exacerbating existing
problems. In addition, because the orthotics have just the
right amount of rigidity, they will conform to your feet without
becoming flat or unsupportive.
What
is the advantage of heat moldable orthotics over regular insoles?
No two feet are the same and a heat moldable orthotic
conforms to fit every unique foot perfectly. Competing insoles
claim to offer arch support, control and comfort, but for
whose foot? Regular insoles weren't designed for just your
foot! Only SOLE Custom Footbeds were designed
by your foot for your foot
Why
do SOLE Custom Footbeds cost less than traditional orthotics?
People
with severely troubled feet may require the assistance of
a health care professonal. However SOLE Orthotics mold to
provide support similar to that of a custom prescribed orthotic
at about 10% of the cost. Many people choose to try SOLE before
seeking a more expensive solution.
What
should I do if I wear a half-size shoe (i.e. 9.5, 10.5, etc.)?
People
who wear half-sizes should round up to the next nearest size.
It is always better to be too big rather than too small for
two reasons: 1. You do not want your toes to hang over the
edge of the footbed. 2. It is easier to trim material off
than it is to put material on!! NOTE: SOLE Custom Footbeds
can be easily modified by trimming or grinding.
